The Comanche County Sheriff's Office's Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program was begun in 1996. The primary mission of the D.A.R.E. program is to provide students with information and skills they need to live drug and violence free lives. D.A.R.E. equips kids with the tools that will enable them to avoid negative influences and, instead, allow them to focus on their strengths and potential. D.A.R.E. also establishes positive relationships between students and law enforcement. Every youngster should have the opportunity to grow up healthy, safe, secure and equipped with the skills needed to succeed in life. Contemporary Oklahoma is, however, rampant with challenges that could keep children from a positive life path.

Deputy Donna Kimmel is the Sheriff's Office D.A.R.E. Instructor and she is certified to teach the program for Kindergarten thru 8th grade.
